A portable AC charger suits a brief that calls for movable equipment and an approved supply connection. A dedicated wallbox suits a planned charging location. Neither category removes the need to check the vehicle, circuit and complete product configuration.
Start with how the product will be used
For a distributor building an accessory range, portability, the supply-side plug and cable handling may be central. For a fixed parking installation, mounting, access control, networking and maintenance access may matter more.
A portable charger brief
Specify the vehicle inlet and supply-side plug separately. Include the approved current, cable length, storage needs and intended environment. A user-adjustable current setting is not permission to exceed the socket, circuit or product limit.
A wallbox brief
Specify the mounting arrangement, available phases, charging limit and access method. For shared sites, describe the users, billing or authorization requirements, and any connection to a charging-management system.

When does OCPP matter?
OCPP defines communication between a charging point and a central management system. It can be relevant to managed commercial charging. It does not specify the vehicle connector or prove that the complete product has every required electrical approval.
Before relying on a connected wallbox for integration, confirm firmware, supported features and testing with the intended backend. A protocol-support claim and independent OCPP certification are different pieces of evidence.
Can the lower-priced format be the wrong purchase?
Yes. Compare the complete programme: installation work, required accessories, product documents, operational needs and support responsibilities. The initial equipment price is only one input. This catalogue does not yet contain confirmed quotations or warranty terms.
